Hey you guys! As you might have known, I’ve been on a bit of a blogging hiatus to try and regain some of my joy for blogging and I feel like that’s definitely happened already and I want to get back into blogging again! I hope you didn’t miss me too much.
But before we get into a bit of a recap of what I have been up to for the past almost two weeks, I just want to take a second to thank all of you guys for your really, really kind and supportive words on my hiatus announcement! It meant a lot to me that you guys were so supportive of me taking a break – I actually ended up reading those comments over and over again these past few days!
And now, what have I been doing during this hiatus? Well, for one thing: It was my 28th birthday on the 18th! This year was a really, really relaxed one. We had my birthday dinner at my parents’ with some ridiculously delicious food and cake! I got to be around the people I love most and what else could I have asked for, really?
The day before my birthday, Marvel & Netflix released the first season of The Punisher which I watched way too quickly on either Sunday or Monday – I don’t remember anymore. Can I just say, that show is not for a younger audience? At all. It was much more brutal than any of the previous shows and definitely deserved the ‘Not For Kids’ label it got! But I still really enjoyed it! The Punisher was also the first time I actually saw Ben Barnes act in anything and I have to say: I think I fell in love with him.
I had always pictured him as Dimitri Belikov from the Vampire Academy series a couple of years and he’s pretty much been stuck in my head that way ever since but then he played Billy Russo on Punisher and I was just sitting there like
And it probably comes to the surprise of absolutely no one who follows me on Twitter that Ben is 1000% my type when it comes to men I am likely to find attractive. Just look at pictures of him, Matthew Daddario and Tyler Hoechlin on Google. I’m sure you’ll spot the similarities in no time.
What else did I do? A good deal of reading! I’m currently on my second month of reading a lot of books and I am loving it. I finally read some books I’ve been meaning to read for ages and while I loved some, I was a bit disappointed by others. But more on that in an upcoming min-reviews post! I am actually currently on my 8th book for this month and I hope I’ll be able to read even more by the end of November!
Weirdly enough, I’ve also had some really good days lately. Like, the kind of good day when you voluntarily clean your entire apartment? And you enjoy doing it??? Don’t ask me what’s gotten into me – I still haven’t figured it out and it’s been a couple of days. As a result of those good days and that cleaning I was finally able to put up some Christmas decorations (and no, it is not too soon. I don’t know what you’re talking about) and I’ve been loving seeing them around my apartment!
Also, I’ve been actively reading you guys’ blog posts and leaving comments here and there which has been great too! Lately, before going on this hiatus, I hadn’t been feeling like reading or commenting and it got to me quite a bit because it feels unfair on my part not to be supporting you guys’ content when you’ve been so absolutely nice to me this entire year! But I hope to keep this momentum going for the future!
I think for now that’s all I wanted to update you guys on – if I think of anything else, I’ll just include it in a different post in the next couple of days! I’ve already got a few posts written and edited right now that I can’t wait to share with you guys! It’s been so great to just write a new post whenever I felt like it rather than having this voice at the back of my mind telling me to write, write, write! Such a nice change!
What have you guys been up to lately? Have you been decorating for Christmas/the holidays already? Or do you think it’s too early? Have you guys been doing your Christmas shopping already? If you haven’t and you’re trying to think of what to get your bookish friends – I might have something ready to go live in the next couple of days! 😉
For the Marvel fans among you guys, did you watch The Punisher? And what did you think??? Let me know in the comments below!
I’m so glad to hear you’re already back to blogging, I missed you and reading your posts for sure. I’m so happy you found your blogging motivation again and I hope it will stay with you for a while. Take things slow and enjoy it all 🙂 xx

I definitely will! Though I’m not kind of thinking about maybe doing a series of posts leading up to Christmas because I keep hearing about people getting excited for vlogmas or bookmas and I’m sitting here like ‘OH MY GOD THAT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN.’. We’ll see. But I’ll definitely be taking it slow! 🙂

Thank you, Alex! ❤
When my mom heard that i was already decorating she might've thought I'm a bit nuts because it's not even close to the first Advent yet – but oh well! I love Christmas too much and want to properly enjoy my decorations! 🙂

You really do, sometimes! I think I might make it a bit of a habit to take a week or two every couple of months to make sure that I continue to have a ton of fun blogging.
Thank you, Annemieke! ❤

Omg happy belated birthday, Swetlana!! (Yours is the day after mine!) I hope you had a great day with friends and family and books. 💕
And I’m glad you’re back and feeling more motivated to comment! I might have to take a quick break because I love to read all the posts but not comment… which is unlike me? 😂

Happy belated birthday to you too, May! Can’t believe I didn’t know about a fellow Scorpio’s birthday! Hope you had a fantastic day yourself! I had tons of cake (my favorite about birthdays – really) and spend time with my family! There’s nothing I could’ve asked for more – well, maybe a ton of books but I figured I’d ask them for Christmas instead!
Then you should definitely take a break! It’s best not to force yourself to comment if you’re not feeling like it! 🙂

It’s really great to hear that you got excited about blogging again and have quite a few posts planned! 🙂 I’m also happy to hear that you had many good days and were able to enjoy your birthday (happy belated birthday!) with the people you love.
It’s only one month until Christmas now 😮 I put up my decorations on Wednesday and am feeling very festive inside – Christmas is my favorite thing in the world 🎄 I am also proud to say that I did some serious Christmas shopping at the beginning of the week. Now the only thing missing to complete my festiveness is a good old gingerbread latte 😀 Do you like the seasonal Starbucks drinks as well?

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Caro!
We don’t have a Starbucks near where I live (seeing how I live in the countryside) but I do like me a Latte Machiato with caramel from McDonald’s from time to time! 🙂

I didn’t have a Starbucks nearby for the most part as well, since I used to live in the countryside as well, but ever since moving to a bigger city I have one nearby … it’s very tempting 😮
Latte Machiato with caramel sounds really good as well! 🙂

I would probably spend so much more money on coffees if I had coffee shops or even McDonald’s closer to me! As it is, it’s like 20km away and you don’t just quickly pop over there just for a coffee. xD

I always have to restrict myself, because I need my money to buy books, I cannot spend it all on coffee xD
