Blog Tour: The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo

You guys might be wondering what happened to my usual feature image and don’t you worry, it’s coming back in my next post! But I was accepted to take part in my very first blog tour, you guys. I freaked out when I heard the news, not gonna lie!

For my stop on the tour, I’ll introduce you guys to the book, share some information on the author, share a giveaway link (an international one, too!) and some aesthetics inspired by this book! You probably know that I’ve really gotten into aesthetics lately so I figured that would be a fun way to celebrate this upcoming release!

Clara Shin lives for pranks and disruption. When she takes one joke too far, her dad sentences her to a summer working on his food truck, the KoBra, alongside her uptight classmate Rose Carver. Not the carefree summer Clara had imagined. But maybe Rose isn’t so bad. Maybe the boy named Hamlet (yes, Hamlet) crushing on her is pretty cute. Maybe Clara actually feels invested in her dad’s business. What if taking this summer seriously means that Clara has to leave her old self behind?

With Maurene Goo’s signature warmth and humor, The Way You Make Me Feel is a relatable story of falling in love and finding yourself in the places you’d never thought to look.

As this book is set during the summer months and we’ve had a really nice and hot week here in Germany, I figured the first aesthetic I would share would just be overall summer related and what I picture when I think of summer.

Not gonna lie, I am super obsessed with this summer inspired aesthetic and I could stare at it for days on end. Hope you guys don’t mind. And this isn’t specific to the book, btw! But I will share some of those too next!

the way you make me feel

If you guys are looking for a fun, quick to read summer contemporary, this is definitely that book! If you like characters who go on a journey throughout a book, this is also your book. If you’re looking for a nice parent-child relationship to read about – this is that book too. And if you’re a big fan of friendships between girls – then you’re at the right address here too!

Unfortunately, I didn’t quite click with the book the way I wanted to and had hoped I would, but I’ve seen many people read and adore this book and as I pointed out, there are a great number of elements that work for this book. I just think it wasn’t for me personally. But don’t let that discourage you from picking it up – especially if you’ve read the author’s previous work and loved it!

    1. Aw, thank you, Marie! I just wish I’d had some more inspiration but I kept feeling stuck so I didn’t get to do as much as I had hoped. But I’m happy to hear you still enjoyed them! 🙂

I saw that! I can’t wait to read your review, come Friday! Especially since you enjoyed the book much more than I did!
