Happy Saturday you guys! I hope you’ve been having a great weekend so far – I know I did! I got in so much family time today alone and if there is one thing that fuels me, it’s spending time with the people I love most! 🙂
Right now, as I’m writing up this post I’m watching some Formula 1 because I love, love, love my F1 weekends and like to watch the races whenever possible. But what I actually wanted to talk about today is my TBR for an upcoming month-long readathon (May 15th to June 15th) that myself, Caro and Sandra will be participating in!
In typical Swetlana fashion, as soon as I heard about the readathon I tweeted Caro and Sandra if they would be up to participate in it with me and because they are awesome human beings, of course, they agreed! We even made a little WhatsApp group to chat whenever possible and I can’t wait to see what it’s going to be like! 🙂
Today, we got the challenges for the upcoming readathon, so I figured I would share it with you guys so you have time to join us too – if you want to! And you obviously should. This readathon is a month long so there isn’t as much pressure to read a lot and read fast which I always really appreciate. Here are the challenges for this very first seasonal-a-thon!
Flower Power – Read A Book Covered In Flowers
I’ve literally been lusting after one particular book for months now and it fits this challenge perfectly: Tyler Johnson Was Here! The second the cover for this book was revealed and we got more information on it, I added it to my TBR and I can’t believe I haven’t gotten to it yet. But these warmer days are usually right when I love to read all my contemporary novels so this should be a perfect fit!
Popping Daisies – Read A New Spring Release
As soon as I saw this challenge I knew exactly what I was going to attempt for this challenge and it’s From Twinkle, With Love! I was a huge fan of Sandyha Menon’s debut novel When Dimple Met Rishi so, of course, I had to add all her future releases to my TBR and Twinkle falls right into the spring 2018 release schedule so obviously I am going to jump at the chance to read it within this readathon. Or, more like listen to it because this is probably going to be one of my audiobook choices for this readathon!
May Flowers – Reread A Book You Always Read In The Spring
See, I recently read the new novella in the A Court Of Thorns And Roses series and now I have this need to go back into A Court Of Mist And Fury because that’s one of my favorite books and I always have such a fantastic time reading it. Plus, who doesn’t want a good bit of smut during these nice and warm days? Plus, I need more Cassian in my life.
Bird Song – Read A Musical Book
When Caro had shared the challenges in our little WhatsApp chat I immediately thought of Noteworthy for this challenge and since I’ve heard so much praise for this book before, I decided that would be my choice for a musical book! And after checking out the synopsis one more time, I am even more excited to read this!
Spring Clean: Read A Book You’ve Been Meaning To Read Forever
Before Sandra, Caro and myself knew what the challenges for this readathon might be, we had already agreed to read a group book between the three of us and luckily for us, our choice actually fits so nicely with one of the challenges too! And our pick was Renegades by Marissa Meyer – all three of us have read Marissa Meyer’s previous works and really loved it and we just couldn’t believe we hadn’t gotten to Renegades yet – but now is the time!
Nature Calls – Read A Book Surrounded In Nature
For this challenge, I won’t choose a particular book because if the weather stays as nice as it’s been lately, I’ll try to get as much reading time in outside as possible! I’ll also be doing this course four days a week starting Monday so maybe I’ll try getting into town early some days so I can get some reading done at the local park which would be awesome. I’m thinking I might aim for Twinkle for this challenge as it’s generally a shorter book and more doable, in my opinion.
Ice Cream & Spring Shower – Read A Book That Melts Your Heart & Read A Book That Makes You Cry
Again, these two challenges will be a repeat book for me because I don’t quite know how much time I’ll have to read or what I’ll be in the mood to read, so for now I am going to go with A Court Of Mist And Fury for these two challenges but I can definitely see myself maybe picking another book for either of them, depending on what I read throughout this readathon!
Have you guys heard about this readathon before and if so, are you participating? Or do you want to participate after hearing about it? If so, let me know in the comments and we can chat and support each other!
Also, have any of you lovely people already read Tyler Johnson Was Here or Noteworthy before and can tell me what you thought of either or both of them?
If you’re also participating, what are some of the books on your TBR? Let me know in the comments down below!
