Listicle Tag: Five Characters I’d Switch Lives With

For today’s post, I thought it would be fun to do a tag again – I feel like I haven’t done one in quite a while so it was about time, right? I was tagged for the Listicle Tag by Beth over at Reading Every Night and I can’t wait to dive into this! But first, let’s talk rules quickly!

  • Create your own listicle tag, using the prompt from the person who tagged you.
  • Tag the creator of the post, not-so-modern-girl, so that I can read all your brilliant posts and see how the joy of listicles is being spread.
  • Nominate as many people as you want!
  • Set those people the subject/prompt of their listicle post

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s talk characters! Also, I might cheat a teeny tiny bit here and include one character that isn’t technically from a book but rather a comic (everyone, take your guesses as to who it is, please!).

a gathering of shadows
Delilah Bard

Let’s start this list off with a character that I had heard so much about before I ever started reading V. E. Schwab’s Shades Of Magic trilogy so there was quite a bit of pressure put on her from the start. Luckily, I did end up really loving her character. I love her adventurous spirit, how she takes no shit from people and is just overall a pretty awesome character.

Mind you, it’s been at least a year since I finished this trilogy and my memory basically sucks but from what I remember, I really adored Delilah and I’d happily switch lives with her. Especially because she gets to hang out with the awesomeness that is the Kell and Alucard dynamic. And also: RHY. My sweet, sweet Rhy.

Someone I follow on Instagram is currently reading the trilogy and now I have this need to reread it too. I just miss all these characters so much. So much.

i was born for this
Angel Rahimi

If there’s one thing you need to know me it’s how much I love boybands. Always have and with the popularity that One Direction had at the beginning of the 2010s, there was no way of escaping them (trust me, I TRIED. For the longest time), so I obviously fell down that rabbit hole too.

And by switching lives with Angel Rahimi I would get to relive all of that but as a teenager which would probably be so much fun! I was too young when the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC were a thing (plus, there was no internet yet) and at the height of their success. Plus, I Was Born For This also deals with internet friendships in such a great way and I’d want to experience that as a teen too – especially the actually meeting your internet friends part!

agent carterPeggy Carter

If any of you guys were able to guess that I’d have Peggy Carter on my list then I’m super proud of you! I mean, we all know how much I love Marvel, so when I was thinking who else I could include I quickly landed on Peggy (probably because I’ve seen Hayley Atwell do promo recently – she plays Peggy in the MCU).

And why wouldn’t I want to be Peggy? She founded SHIELD, she continuously kicks ass and is an awesome agent who never lets men put her down. She demands the respect she deserves. And also, Captain America. Let’s be real here. We all know how much I love Cap, right? And if there’s a chance I have to take it – in my universe, Cap wouldn’t fly the plane into the ocean though (we’re sticking to the MCU here, my knowledge of the comics SUCKS). We’d be living a happy life.

to all the boys ive loved beforeLara Jean Song Covey

Here we have another character that has been on my mind quite a bit recently which probably contributed to me picking them for this list too: Lara Jean! I’ve recently reread the first two books in the trilogy and the movie is coming out next Friday, so I’m all about this series and Lara Jean in particular!

I’d love to switch lives with her so I can experience being the middle child. You might not know this, but I’m the oldest of four and so I’m kind of the ‘mom’ in a ton of situations and whenever something goes wrong, I’m the one who has to step up. I’d just love to experience life from a different perspective. But also, I’d love to have a much younger sibling again for a change. My brother (who is my youngest sibling) is turning 17 in a couple of months so he’s all grown up and stuff. I miss having young siblings!

Also, as someone who grew up watching all the American movies and tv shows set in American high schools – I’d love to experience that too! It always looks super fun in the media. My school experience was nothing like it, to be honest.

Also also: Peter Kavinsky. He is just downright adorable and I love the way he treats Lara Jean’s youngest sister and her dad! He seems like a pretty awesome boyfriend to have and who doesn’t want that??? So yeah, Lara Jean, let’s switch lives!

acomafFeyre Archeron

I was almost going to leave this list at four characters because I had trouble thinking of a fifth (and now I’ve got a few more that I would switch lives with too, but I’m already at five, so *shrugs*) but then my brain went WHAT ABOUT CASSIAN? Because when am I ever not thinking about Cassian (spoiler: when my brain is too focused on Sebastian Stan)?!

Well, so I was at Cassian but I didn’t want to be Cassian, I just wanted to be in a world where he’s too. And by being replacing Feyre I get to be BFFs with Cassian (I wouldn’t want to be Nesta (she’s kind of a bit too much for me at the moment) which does come with what I’m pretty sure is going to be one hell of a hate-to-love relationship) AND I’d get to be with Rhysand. Maybe I could manage to make him stop thinking about sex every two seconds? I’m sure there’s more he could be doing and thinking about other than sex.

Also, I’d be High Lady Of The Night Court. And can kick Tamlin’s ass. Plus be BFFs with Mor! And Azriel is awesome AF too. Like, that be the dream. Being part of the Inner Circle, pretty much.

And now I get to think of a prompt for the people I want to tag. Let me think about this for a second…

You wake up on a deserted island. What are the five books you wish you had on you to keep you company and entertained?

As for who I tag, let’s go with:

I hope you guys haven’t done this tag before or haven’t done this particular prompt yet! I can’t wait to hear your answers! ❤

Grab Your Coffee And Let's Talk!

Now, if you guys could choose five characters to replace and live their lives, who would you choose? And how would you go about choosing? Let me know in the comments down below! I can’t wait to hear you guys’ answers! ❤

  1. These are great characters picks for this question Swetlana. When it comes to characters I’d want to trade places with Lila from the Shades of Magic series is always going to be at the very top of my list. I think basically I’d just want to be able to live in Red London because at the moment I’m stuck in the London without magic. :/
Also Feyre is a great choice too, there’s nothing more kick ass than being High Lady of the Night Court right?!
Great post, and again great picks for this tag. 🙂 ❤

  2. Those were absolutely brilliant picks!! Also, I feel like comics always count, because you do read them haha so they are books as well, just with tons more pictures. If I could pick a Marvel character, I’d want to be Wanda/Scarlet Witch … although I’d probably prefer the MCU version over the comic book one haha

      1. I get that! I only read the Spiderman, Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales (all kinds of Spider people basically) and Ms Marvel comics, at least when it comes to the Marvel franchise. I do like the movies better a lot of the time though. Although I really hope they won’t mess up Ms Marvel when they add her to the cinematic universe.

  3. Thank you so much for tagging me! 💕 I love the question that you choose and I’m already thinking about my answers, as it’s really not easy to narrow it down to 5 😀 Choosing to be Feyre was a good call, it would be amazing to be part of the Inner Circle and rule the Night Court!! (and that comment about Rhys, omg 😂) But did you hear that book 4 was pushed back to 2020? 😦 I still haven’t read all books, but I’m still a bit sad about that!

      1. … how did you guess that? XD I’m becoming predictable 😁

I saw it randomly on Goodreads and then someone on Tumblr said, she talked about it during one of her current events 😦 I think in 2019, we’ll get another novella? wasn’t there one marked on Goodreads? Oh and her new book too
