Everyone, I have no idea how to contain my excitement right now? It’s Monday morning and I am super freaking hyped and excited? You might be able to tell why that is by the title of this post and just in case you can’t, let me just say this:
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before will be available on Netflix on Friday. That’s just over 96 hours until I can finally watch this movie. And yes, I will do the math. It’s 97hrs49mins exactly as of me writing this.
If the above gif describes your current or future emotional state when thinking about this movie and any and all plans you might have for it, I’ve got you covered!
Tip #1: Popcorn
What’s a good movie night without some popcorn, right? I know for me it’s one of the most important things I will make sure I have on hand – to the point that after I mentioned to Sandra and Caro that we should do a movie night once this is out that I had to go and buy popcorn that evening. It just wouldn’t leave me be. As a little ‘Don’t be as foolish as Swetlana’ PSA: make sure you don’t break off a bit of your tooth with your popcorn! Urgh, those annoying hard pieces that are in there.
Tip #2: Other Snacks
You might be someone who doesn’t like popcorn (or doesn’t want to risk their teeth by eating it) or likes to have something else too, so make sure you have your favorite snacks on hand! I love a mixture of sweet and sour snacks – or I’ll go healthy and make myself a plate of slices of cucumber and tomatoes. I know, it may not sound as awesome but that’s my go-to if I don’t have anything else at home!
Tip #3: Drinks
Now, this particular item will rely on a couple of things
- your age
- the kind of movie night you’re having
- your general attitude
I think Caro and I will be watching this movie together and I might get myself a drink of the alcoholic nature (I’m more than old enough to have it, so don’t worry about me) to sip on while melting with all the feels. But you could always go the ‘I want to pamper myself’ route and get a nice warm/hot beverage to enjoy instead!
Tip #4: Get Fluffy Blankets
One of the best things about being able to watch a movie from the comfort of your home/bedroom is that you can get all nice and cozy and hide underneath about a million cozy blankets! You know they are great to hide away from scary stuff. But you can also hide from all the cuteness that is about to make your heart burst!
Tip #5: Bring All The Tissues
Who doesn’t enjoy a good movie that’ll make you cry uncontrollably? I will literally put on A Walk To Remember when I need a good cry fest. The last few minutes of that movie always make cry. Without fail. But sometimes you cry happy tears too! And you want to make sure you’ve got tissues ready for when either of the two happens! I can almost guarantee that I will be crying while watching TATBILB because I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster for days now. It’s super fun.
Tip #6: Have A Friend To Lean On
Everything in life is made better by having someone deal with something with you, right? So get your friends together and deal with all the feels of watching a movie together! And for everyone who has friends all over the world, there are websites out there that allow you to watch something together while also chatting with each other. I can highly recommend them!
Tip #7: Read The Book
Yes, I am going to be that person for a second. I feel like as bookworms it’s kind of our job to make sure we’ve read the book before watching the movie adaptation – especially if it’s about marginalized groups. Show the publishing and movie industry that we want to see more stories featuring marginalized groups! If you can, invest your money in those stories! And speaking of which, Crazy Rich Asians actually comes out in theaters on Friday too – so if you can, go out and see the movie!
Tip #8: Check IMBd
No one really wants to be the annoying person during the movie night who keeps interrupting everyone because they need to know where they’ve seen that actor before. But just in case you have one of those people present, make sure YOU have checked all the actors on IMBd beforehand so you can answer the question quickly and continue the movie immediately.
Tip #9: Don’t Stalk The Cast On Social Media
It’s absolutely no secret that I love following various cast members of different shows/movies on their social media, right? So why am I telling you not to do it? Easy! You’ll fall in love with them and before you know it you’ve spent three days down a YouTube binge and haven’t had the proper time to get ready for your movie night! You can still follow them all and do a deep dive into their social media after you’ve seen the movie!
Now, first of all: how many of you guys are impatiently waiting for it to be Friday already so you can watch this movie? Raise your hand! And now, what are some essentials for your perfect movie night? Share them in the comments below and make sure you have them on hand for when you sit down to watch To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before! π
YOU WANT ME TO GET A FREAKING BLANKET IN A HEAT WAVE? Tell me the truth, do you want me to die? Hahaha I do agree for movie nights in fall/winter though. Weirdly, I am also not a snack person, but the tissues are ready. This movie is going to be so great!! I might have been late to the party, but I do love it!

So pumped for this movie! It’s been awhile since I’ve read the book, so I think a reread is in order.

Y E S, I love this post π It has been too long since I had a huge movie night & I love nothing more than to prepare for one!
Not to start some discourse, but NACHOS are amazing and the superior snack π I do like Popcorn, but only cinema Popcorn, as it’s delicious! My choice of drink is Cherry Coke, my favorite kind of coke π Since I cry easily, tissues it is!

Thank you, Caro! I swear, you’re hands down one of the most supportive people anyone could ask for! β€
I've actually almost made it a bit of a habit this summer (at least) to watch a movie here and there and it's always such a nice way to relax before bed. π
I don't like nachos, but to each their own. OMG I swear those like buckets that Lidl sells from time to time (with the popcorn) TASTES LIKE CINEMA POPCORN.
LMAO I'll have to get the tissues ready FOR SURE. I mean, I know they might be an essential anyways but like, I've cried SO MANY HAPPY TEARS just watching different clips. xD

That’s a great habit! I’m soo bad at watching movies (I can binge TV Shows no problem, but sitting through a movie is something I don’t do nearly enough) π
π±π±π± Just kidding, there are soo many great snacks out there for a perfect movie marathon π Ohhh I’ll have to try them out when they have them!
Happy Tears are always good, the trailer was amazing omg xD
