Rest Of The Year TBR // Blogmas Day 6

Welcome to blogmas day 6 everyone! I’ve been having so much fun writing these posts and getting into the festive mood these past couple of days – I hope you guys are too!

For today’s post we’ll be talking about books I want to get to before the end of the year – keeping in mind that I’m still very much a mood reader and that there is a 900 page book in my very near future, so we’ll see what I’ll actually be able to get to.

Up first and the most obvious choice for this TBR if you know me is Queen Of Air And Darkness. I’ve been waiting impatiently for this book ever since I finished reading Lord Of Shadows and had to deal with THAT cliffhanger.

I’m actually still rereading LOS (I have about 250 pages left) while wait for my copy of QOAAD to arrive (it’ll hopefully be here by the time this post goes up today) so I can dive into it.

With these huge releases the fear of being spoiled for anything is ridiculous so I want to read it as soon as possible to avoid being spoiled. But that also means I need to get on pre-writing a few more posts so I can take the rest of the week to just read as much as possible. Oh well.

Michelle Obama’s Becoming has been getting all the buzz ever since it was released and as someone who really liked the Obamas, I’m super curious to hear more about them – especially from themselves.

I figured after I finish QOAAD I’ll probably need something to pull me out of whatever state I’ll be in – I’m hoping that’s gonna be this book.

Plus, Merline recently read this too and her reactions were really positive and had me even more curious about the book! Did any of you guys read Becoming? What did you think?

A Very Large Expanse Of Sea has been on my radar pretty much ever since it was released this year and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. I really enjoyed Tahereh Mafi’ middle-grade novels and I hope that love will carry over into this contemporary of hers!

I haven’t read too many books set in the aftermath of 9/11 and to get a story from the perspective of a Muslim writer seems like the best way to go! Plus, the audiobook is pretty short so I should be able to fly through it if I end up enjoying this book as much as I hope I will.

And the last book that’s on my list is Laini Taylor’s Muse Of Nightmares.

I may not have loved Strange The Dreamer as much as I had hoped I would but Laini’s writing is something else entirely so I do want to know how she continued that story.

To be fair, I might not even get to this book by the end of the month as QOAAD is gonna take a couple of days at least to read plus, it’s the holiday season and I want to spend time with the people I love. But, hopefully, with all the getting ready I’ll be doing towards the last week of December (you know, with dinners & parties) I’ll get a good bit of audiobook listening in while I do that!

Did you guys read this book already? And if so, what did you think? Did you like it as much as the first?

Do you guys make TBRs for yourselves? Or do you tend to read whatever it is you’re in the mood for? Either way – do you have any plans for what you want to read for the rest of the year?

And if you’ve read any of the books I mentioned above – let me know what you thought of them – without spoilers, obviously. I’ll be in the comments waiting for you guys. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. This is a lovely TBR! I’m really curious about Michelle Obama’s book for some reason, even if I don’t read non-fiction, usually, haha. I’ll be waiting for your thoughts on that one ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Good luck with your reading plans! ๐Ÿ’— I definitely have lots of books to read too, but I won’t get to all of them, as there’s simply not enough time ๐Ÿ˜… Listening to audiobooks is definitely a great idea to get some last minute reading in! ๐Ÿ‘ I just have to make sure to read my library books on time and return them before the holidays ๐Ÿ˜„
