One of my favorite things to do during this colder and dark months is to get cuddled up in bed and to just watch movies/shows that make me feel quite cozy and comfy. You know, a bit of comfort in these not so nice days.
I figured you guys might really enjoy a good Christmas movie too so I wanted to suggest some of my favorites to you for today’s post. Granted, I don’t watch as many movies as someone else might (my attention span for movies isn’t as good as it is whenever I binge watch shows – don’t ask why) but I have a couple of go-tos that will always make me happy. 🙂
When we’re talking about classic Christmas movies the very first one that always comes to mind is Home Alone.
Growing up, we’d always watch this as a family and it continues to be funny even now, decades later. I haven’t actually watched it yet this year, so I need to get on that asap and to make it more fun for myself, I’ll probably watch it in English too – which I haven’t done yet!
Do you guys prefer this or Home Alone 2? Or do you love them both equally?
The next movie we’re going to talk about is one of my all-time favorite feel-good movies: The Holiday!
I actually remember one New Years Eve when we were still relatively young and not into celebrating with our parents, so me, my sister and our cousins just went back to our’s and watched this movie while waiting for midnight which was when we decided to just visit our friends to ring in the new year. It was still a really nice NYE and one I remember fondly!
And as with Home Alone, I haven’t watched The Holiday yet either. I’m almost saving them for the very end of the Christmas season – maybe even Christmas Eve so I can pass some time while I wait for dinner at my parents’. But I can highly recommend this movie! It even has a young Jude Law, okay?
The Netflix Originals
We’re starting off my list of recommended Netflix Original movies with last year’s highlight: A Christmas Prince! People were watching this one a ton – some people even watched it repeatedly for days on end. There was a whole controversy about it after someone tweeted about it from the Netflix account.
But, that’s just how good this movie is! If you loved The Princess Diaries, you might want to give this one a go too! But do yourself a huge favor and just ignore the sequel. No one needed it. There’s too much drama for drama’s sake. Just watch this and enjoy it for the good movie it is.
And lastly, we have Christmas Inheritance! I kept seeing this pop up with all the other Christmas movies sharing similar posters (you’ve probably seen the graphics too – a Very White Christmas indeed) but I really like the lead actress from her work on The 100 so I decided to watch it one night – you know, instead of getting some sleep. xD
This has actually been my favorite Netflix Christmas movie so far! We all know what to expect at the end of these movies, right? The couple that meets just a few days before Christmas is suddenly head over heels in love by the time Christmas rolls around. This movie did it differently and I really appreciate it
Another thing I really loved was the fact that this wasn’t about love primarily. Our lead character went on a mission of self growth and she learned quite a bit in the short time we follow her and I just really loved this movie. I might even rewatch it soon!
I’m still very much in the middle of watching a bunch of Christmas movies and I’ll share more favorites at a later point of blogmas so if you have any MUST SEE Christmas movies, let me know in the comments down below!
