Revisiting My Book Series Extravaganza

Do you guys ever get an idea for a new blog post just to realize that you’ve covered the topic in a previous post already? Or that it was part of a bigger post?

Because for Wednesday’s post I was going to talk about some book series I wanted to reread just to realize that I had already talked about them for a different post back during Blogmas 2018 so I scrapped that idea again and figured I’d just not post on Wednesday and think of something different for today. But then I flew through my reread of Vampire Academy (literally read it in one sitting) which made me want to talk about those books again – so we’re doing that today.

But, we’re taking a look at my Book Series Extravaganza post from back in December to see if I’ve made any progress on the various different prompts. Let’s jump right in! 🙂

Book Series I’m Afraid To Reread

Here are three series that I’ve wanted to reread for a while but I’m also afraid I won’t love them as much this time around as my reading tastes have changed a bit since I first read these. However, since I finished Vampire Academy last night I’m somewhat hopeful that I might end up loving them again this time around.

Vampire Academy and the Legend trilogy are actually on my list of series I want to reread that I was going to talk about for the blog post I mentioned, along with The Hunger Games trilogy. I should make it a reading theme one month and just fit in as many Young Adult classics as I can!

Book Series I Reread Regularly

The first two especially, are such staples in my rereading and I can slowly feel the urge to pick Six Of Crows up again as it’s been almost exactly a year since I last read it and that’s too long – I need my fix of Kaz and the crew! With The Infernal Devices it’s always a thing of ‘Do I want to cry my eyes out at the end of this reread?’ as I just cannot for the life of me finish Clockwork Princess without crying. That epilogue just gets to me.

As for To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, I think I might dive back in sometime this summer as it’s the perfect read for summer days and walks to my parents!

Book Series I Want To Reread

I know for sure that I’ll dive back into Scythe soon as the final book in the trilogy is coming out soon and I need to have all the events fresh in my mind before starting The Toll! I don’t know when I’ll get to A Darker Shade Of Magic though as I haven’t had that urge lately. But I do want to have this copy tabbed & annotated so it’s going to happen at some point!

Book Series I Want To Start

I actually get to say that I made progress on something I mentioned in this post – that’s so exciting! I actually did read (or listen to) Daughter Of Smoke And Bone months ago, but I’ll probably start that trilogy over again now that I have the trilogy as physical copies – I cannot wait to be emerged in Laini Taylor’s writing!

And of course I’ve also made progress on Red Rising, I’ll actually be starting Morning Star (aka book 3) this weekend or this upcoming week with the goal of having read Iron Gold (aka book 4) in time for the release of the newest book in this series.

The only series I still haven’t gotten to (and it’s honestly getting ridiculous at this point) is Renegades. I don’t have physical copies of the books that are currently released in this trilogy and they aren’t available as audiobooks in Germany for some reason. Soon though, hopefully!

Book Series I Want To Finish

I’m sad to repart that I still haven’t made any progress on actually finishing these series. And the saddest part? They’re all duologies so it’s just one book keeping me from wrapping up three different series. But I’d definitely have to go back and read the first book for each of them as I don’t remember anything that happened (as shown a few weeks ago when I was confused by a fanart for a certain character). xD

I do have both Wildcard and Muse Of Nightmares as audiobooks and have had them since they released too. So I don’t really have an excuse to not wrapping those series up already (I also have the first books as audiobooks).

How about you guys? Do you have series you want to reread or any series you still need to finish? Or continue? Let’s chat all about them in the comments down below! 🙂

  1. I love the Vampire Academy series. I’ve reread it several times. I want to start the Legends series because I read Warcross and really liked it, however, I couldn’t finish Wildcard. I don’t know why. I’ll have to revisit it soon. I want to also start Daughter of Smoke and Bone but every time I pick it up, I just can’t get into it…

  2. I have a post in my backlog about book series I want to reread and series I haven’t finished. I want reread Scythe even though I just read the series for the first time a few months ago. I also want to reread The Dark Artifices. I can’t believe i’ve made it this far into the year and haven’t read Lady Midnight for the 15000th time. I don’t know who I am. Lol.

  3. *appearing at the mention of Renegades* I still hope they’ll finally give you the audiobook to enjoy, because I really, really love these books ❤ I also liked Wildcard unlike a lot of people I think and it was a really fast book for me to read 😄 Aaaand I need to reread Scythe too, because the third book is out soon and I don’t think I’m even remotedly ready for it 😱

    1. As you now know, I’m finally at least getting a physical copy of Renegades so the chances of me finally reading the book have just increased quite a lot! I think the audiobook thing might be a rights issue here in Germany – maybe they’ll record one in German? Who knows. But I’m honestly so annoyed that we didn’t get it here. xD

Oh, I’m happy to hear you enjoyed Wildcard! I think you might be the first person to have felt that way that I’ve seen. I was getting quite nervous!

If you want to, we could reread it together? Just as soon as I can leave this BTS related reading slump behind me. xD

      1. Yeeees, I’m very excited that the time for you to read Renegades is drawing nearer 😈 The thing with the audiobook is truly strange, it might be a local restriction or something?? Maybe one day the audiobook will appear 😮

I have seen a lot of mixed Reviews for Wildcard, so I’m glad that I only read them afterwards! The book was different than I expected, but still ended up satisfying me 🙂

        YEEES please!! 💖💕
