In one of the most unexpected turn of events, I have recently become BTS trash.
My friend, who is a huge BTS fan and has been for years, has been trying to get me into them multiple times but I always said ‘no’. I’d seen some videos here and there and knew of them but never really wanted to invest time into checking them out more. One day, I kind of watched a few things and immediately fell in love with Namjoon/RM/Rap Monster and my friend saw her chance to pull me in further.
She (with the help of a Namjoon loving friend of hers) then send me a bunch of other stuff to watch and look at and before I knew what was even happening, we were watching videos together and I was slowly getting more and more invested. Now, about maybe two weeks later, I would call myself a ‘BTS stan-to-be’. I’ve seen hours and hours worth of video (anything from timeline related stuff, to compilations of all sorts and of course music videos and live performances) and I just keep falling more and more in love with them each day.
I kind of have a favorite but I’m also constantly tempted to change it because these boys are all absolutely precious and all talented AF.

So, when it was time to come up with a blog post for today, I figured I would combine two loves of mine: books and BTS! Luckily for me, there are a lot of BTS loving bookworms out there who have created tags and I’ll be doing the one Jess created and shared months ago!
Here are the rules for this tag:
- Tag @beaucoupbooks in your post!
- Feel free to use the graphics below.
- Tag at least one other person to do this tag
but really, you don’t need to be tagged to do this post, anyone can.
Before I start rambling, let’s just dive right in!

DNA: The Novel That Started Your Love For Books

I don’t even know if any of you guys (you Germans) will know this book as I read it in the early 2000s but it was this booked called Mensch, Pia! that my aunt had given me. I read that book so many times – the hardcover was beginning to fall apart. I couldn’t even tell you what the book was really about anymore as it’s been so long, I just remember that I loved it a lot and would read it over and over again.
MIC DROP: A Popular Novel That Deserves The Hype It Gets

I feel like, looking at all the books on my shelves, the most popular book that I would say 100% deserves the hype is probably my love Six Of Crows. We all know I love that duology with all my heart and reread it regularly and probably will for years to come! The characters are awesome, the relationships (both romantic and platonic) will draw you in and not let you leave (may I just remind us all once again of Kaz’ quotes throughout), plus Six Of Crows and Crooked Kingdom are (in my opinion) Leigh’s best work so far!

FAKE LOVE: A Book/Character You Used To Love But Now Dislike

Oh, this is easy! Tamlin from A Court Of Thorns And Roses! When I read that book for the very first time when it just came out I was such a big fan of the Tamlin and Feyre relationship and then came A Court Of Mist And Fury and I was just absolutely horrified with what Tamlin did to Feyre and he just continues to be more and more of a dick, especially in A Court Of Wings And Ruins. And as for a book? Looking For Alaska! I used to adore that book with all my heart when I first read it in early 2010 but I recently read it again and just couldn’t stand the book anymore.
LET GO: A Book Series You Were Sad To See End

As I was trying to think of an answer for this question, I realized that most of the series that I would consider for this question are actually getting some form of continuation at some point soon so while I was sad to say goodbye to the characters, I’ll be reunited with them at some point soon. But I guess I’ll go with The Infernal Devices for this one! It’s hands down one of my all-time favorite series and I am still so excited that I get to be reunited with these characters and their kids come March 2020!

SERENDIPITY: A Book/Character That Makes You Feel Warm And Happy

My immediate reaction upon reading this prompt was to go with Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda but my love for that universe has been tainted quite a bit by Leah On The Offbeat so I don’t know if I want to go with that book anymore. But another book that more recently made me really happy was Red, White & Royal Blue so we’ll give that book the cover shout-out! I’m sure most of you guys have already heard about this book seeing how popular it is, but I don’t care. It deserve all the love and attention it can get. 🙂
EUPHORIA: A Novel That Makes You Feel Nostalgic

I don’t really have too many books that would make me feel nostalgic, but as I’ve been rereading Vampire Academy, I’ll go with that as an answer! I adored this series (and the spinoff) when I first read it and it’s so nice to see that it still mostly holds up years and years (probably a decade at this point) later! So far, I’ve given the first half of the series 4 stars each and I’m super excited continue on with this reread and to relive my favorite YA novels from when I was just 20 or a bit older.

SINGULARITY: A Book/Character That Helped You Through A Bad Time

I don’t really have a specific book in mind for this, if I’m being honest. I think for me it’s usually just books in general that help me whenever things aren’t as awesome as they could be but I can’t pinpoint a particular book.
EPIPHANY: A Book/Character That Made You Realize Something About Yourself

Hmmm, I think maybe There’s Something About Sweetie or Leah On The Offbeat as they both featured fat main characters who I could really identify with and see myself throughout different times in my life in both Leah and Sweetie. And while I don’t really want to give the book about Leah attention, Leah the character overall deserves it in my opinion (Becky did some weird and messed up things – in my opinion, to some of her characters in that book) and Sweetie is just a kickass woman who I aspire to be! I love her attituate towards the word ‘fat’ and how she wants to reclaim it for herself. Plus, she’s super awesome at track and doesn’t let other people tell her what she can and can’t do.

I need to know, are any of you guys reading my blog also BTS fans and if so, who is your favorite (or is it, who is your bias? I’m not that familiar with terms and stuff) of the guys but also your all-time favorite song?
But I also want to hear you guys’ answers for these questions! What’s the book that got you into a reading? Or a book that made you realize something about yourself? A book you used to love but can’t stand anymore? Or any of the other questions you feel like answering too – please do! I can’t wait to hear from you in the comments! 🙂

Ahh, lovely answers! Red White and Royal Blue made me so, so very happy as well, I love this book so much 🙂

I know nothing about BTS but I support you & I love how passionate you are about them ❤ It’s also really cool that there is a fitting book Tag! I definitely think that Six of Crows deserves all the hype it gets as well, I feel like we all collectively enjoyed it so much and that’s truly great 🙂 I also neeeed to reread Vampire Academy, it always makes me nostalgic as well! I’m glad to hear you still loved it! I definitely need to get my hands on the English copies though 😄

Caro, be GLAD you know nothing about them. They’ll consume your every waking hour as soon as you even so much as dip a toe in. xD It’s almost hilarious how many people I’ve seen get into BTS recently and how they’ve basically just been living in that bubble since. xD
Yeah, that’s why I mainly sold my German copies: I wanted Vampire Academy in English for my reread. I’m not even sure if I read them in German or English the first time around, it’s been so long. xD

I actually haven’t listened to much BTS, so I was surprised when I recognized a few of the song titles! But I agree with you about so many of your answers! Six of Crows definitely deserves all the hype it gets! And Tamlin turns into the absolute WORST in ACOMAF. And Red, White, & Royal Blue is now my go to answer about anything relating to happiness, cuteness, or romance!

If you ever needed a pointer in the direction of some really good BTS songs, let me know! I’ll be more than happy to help you out. xD
I feel like the only one I realy knew before was MIC Drop because it was all over the place? But it also had Steve Aoki attached who was working with Louis from 1D so I probably heard about it through that.
Right? RW&RB is the perfect book for a pick me up or just whenever you just want something fun but also important to read!
