Book Haul: January 2017

january book haulI usually try to limit my book buying to a minimum each month, because who has the money to buy a lot of books, right? But I still managed to get four this month – one for a super good deal on Amazon!

The first book to land on my door step this month was Sarah J. Maas’ The Assassin’s Blade, the novella bind-up that is a sort of prequel to the Throne Of Glass series.

I’ve actually already read all the novellas before, but I didn’t own a physical copy yet and that had to be changed – especially since I originally planned to reread the entire Throne Of Glass cofseries in preparation for the final book. Unfortunately, Sarah hasn’t been feeling well the past year, so TOG #6 is being pushed back to May 2018 and instead we’re getting a full-length novel rather than just a novella about Chaol on September 5th of this year! There is more information on all of this over at worldofsarahjmaas.com!

Then, just a day apart from each other Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy and Clockwork Angel landed on my door step! I’ve actually already read Clockwork Angel (and the rest cofof The Infernal Devices trilogy) before but I had to have this cover of the book! I thought it would match my existing box set of The Mortal Instruments, but unfortunately, the spines are a bit different and they don’t match in height either (which drives me crazy). With the arrival of these two books my collection of Cassandra Clare novels is complete (I do plan on eventually getting An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld though) and I can start my way towards having read them all too (I still haven’t finished The Bane Chronicles and TFTSA).

And the last book I got this month was one of my highly anticipated releases for January: Caraval by Stephanie Garber! Which, to my complete surprise, arrived four days early! And while you would think I’d jump at the chance to read the book right away, I was actually in the middle of reading a different book and I have a rule of finishing one book before starting a new one! But, I have read the book since and my review is coming to the blog on Monday (I’ll make sure to link it here once it’s up)!

Have you gotten any exciting books this past month? Let me know! I am always looking for new books to add to my ever growing tbr and wish list on amazon!

    1. I’ve heard Caraval be compared to The Night Circus so many times too, but I’ve never read it so I can’t tell you if it is similar. But maybe I should pick The Night Circus up, after having enjoyed Caraval this much!

Thank you, that is so sweet of you!
