TAG TIME: Naughty Or Nice Tag // Blogmas Day 4

I recently found the Naughty Or Nice tag over on Jenn’s blog and it was just perfect for blogmas so that’s what we’ll be doing today! Aren’t we all curious how naughty or nice each other are when it comes to all things bookish? I know I am!

Should we just jump right into this tag as there’ll be a lot of posts for you guys to read and I’m sure you’ll appreciate it if I got straight to the point for most of them. xD So, let’s jump in!

Received an ARC and not reviewed it?

Unfortunately, yes. I do try my best to review any ARCs I get but sometimes I’m just not in the mood for them and don’t get to them for months on end. I do feel bad about it though as I hate not coming through on a commitment.

I did get the translated version of Sky In The Deep as an ARC a couple of weeks ago so that’s on my list for sure!

Have less than 60% feedback ratio on Netgalley?

I don’t think so! I mean, I feel lucky if I’m even able to request a book over tehre these days – most of it is ‘Wish For It’.

Rated a book on GoodReads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)?

LMAO MOST DEFINITELY. I go through phases of actually reviewing books once I read them and then just rating books with no review at all. But sometimes I’ll want to review a book but I need a bit more time to formulate proper thoughts and then by the time I have it all together I no longer remember what happened.

Folded down the page of a book/Accidentally spilled on a book?

Probably? I didn’t spill anything on any of my books, that much I know for sure but I can’t recall if I folded down a page or not. I know I’ll do it occasionally though but I don’t mind as they are my own books.

DNF a book this year?

Yes, at least one I can remember though I feel like there was maybe another too? I got approved for Outrun The Wind earlier this year but I just couldn’t get into the story and didn’t want to force myself to read it either (I fear that it’ll negatively impact my overall feelings on the book and that’s just not fair).

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it?

Not this year, no. I have very strict rules on what kind of books I’m allowed to buy this year (aka only books I will read immediately) and I’ve read all of them. Where there ridiculously pretty books that I bought? Yes! Of course. But I but them with every intention of reading them. πŸ™‚

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)?

Not really? I’m not in school at the moment and looking for jobs so I don’t have to do homework, etc. I’ve got a lot of free time that I can invest into reading.

Skim read a book?

No. I can’t read like that. I like knowing what happens on the pages I’m reading and that doesn’t really happen for me when I skim anything. I might do it on the fourth reread of a book but never for a first or even second read through.

Completely missed your GoodReads goal?

Nope. I smashed my goal!

When I originally set it at the beginning of 2018 I did it hoping I’d find a job or maybe go back to school (which didn’t happen for different reasons) so I set my goal at 50 which would’ve been about a book per week and that’s still something I’d be able to do even with school/work. Overall, as of writing this post, I’ve read 76 books (including 8 novellas, so let’s say I’m at 68 full-length novels)!

Borrowed a book and not returned it?

Yes. I’ve got two library copies that I still need to return but it’s been so long now and I just feel horrible about not returning them on time and now I’m in this weird place of being afraid of what the women working there will say once I return them.

Broke a book buying ban?

Nope. I’m on a strict budget and under strict rules from myself and I’ve stuck to them for all of 2018!

Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about?

Not really. If I start writing a review, I’ll finish it too. I know that I won’t remember anything if I let things sit too long in the drafts folder so I either finish it right away or I don’t do it at all.

Wrote in a book you were reading?

Yes, all of the time! I’m a huge fan of annotating the books I own and usually write into pretty much all of them. Unless I have multiple copies and possibly want to sell one of them, then I’ll just stick with writing into the same copy.

Finished a book and not added it to your GoodReads?

No, I always add the books I finish to my Goodreads. I’m too forgetful and wouldn’t remember what I’ve read otherwise. xD

After a quick scroll up and down this list the results are in:

Naughty: 6 & Nice: 8

While writing up this post, I definitely felt like I was leaning more towards the naughty side of things but apparently I’m nicer than I thought! Isn’t that fun? How about you guys? Are you on the naughty or nice list this year? Let me know in the comments below!

And Caro, Marie, Merline and Beth –  I’m tagging you guys to do this too!

  1. What a fun tag, I loved reading your answers πŸ™‚ Congratulations on reading so much this year, that’s amazing! And I’m the same with goodreads, I add the books otherwise I will forget everything that I ever read hahaha.

  2. Thanks so much for the tag Swetlana. πŸ™‚ This seems like such a fun one for Christmas so I’ll have to make sure I’m able to get around to it this month! πŸ˜€
I loved reading your answers as well, congrats on already having completed your GR Reading Challenge! πŸ™‚ When it comes to reviewing arcs I used to be so good but there are a few that I’ve read and still have to review (and even a couple I still need to read), but based on the rest of these questions I should be able to have more ‘nice’ answers than ‘naughty’ ones!
Great post, and again thanks for the tag. πŸ™‚ ❀

  3. Oh that’s such a fun Tag! (to find out who has been nice and gets books for Christmas πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜‚) Thank you so much for tagging me, I’ll do it as soon as I can, as I was planning on doing a seasonly appropriate Tag πŸ’— I really have a few Netgalley Arcs that I haven’t reviewed because back then I requested so much and then lost interest, which is not that good … or I forgot the date the book was due and then it expired πŸ˜…
